Without further ado, to celebrate six months of sobriety (woop woop!), here is my list of recommendations for booze-free alternatives so you can make the most of your night out at the pub, feel included, and not get tempted to drink.

Gin & Tonic

Okay, hear me out: just the tonic. Back in August, I went to my first sober wedding. My oldest friend married the love of his life and, best of all, my mother happened to be in town for it. I managed to resist the offers of champagne and fancy martinis handed out by the waiters, but I was beginning to get anxious trying to tune out the siren call of the open bar. Then my mother appeared from nowhere and handed me a glass. “An alcohol-free gin and tonic!” she declared. It was delicious and perfect.
